20 years and counting....

Press Release - 2004 (Red Bank, NJ)

DeckerWright Corporation (DWC) was founded over 20 years ago to provide software development services to Bell Laboratories.  Over time and keeping pace with the changes in the information systems industry, DeckerWright evolved into a business that focuses on designing, installing and support networked information systems.

Here are some business highlights of our 20 years working in Information Systems.

  • Software development services started for Bell Laboratories providing software developers doing C, C++, and GUI design using Open Look.
  • In 1989, DWC opened Computer Exchange, a retail operation reselling new and used computers.  At that time, most of the computers where IBM XT and AT class computers.  The 386 process had not yet been invented!
  • In 1992, DWC began providing network services to support Novell Local Area Networks and hired their first on-site support technician.
  • DWC closed its retail operation in 1994, and shifted its business focus to exclusively support small and medium sized organizations (business, non-profits and schools with up to 500 desktop computers).  DWC moved in to its current location at 628 Shrewsbury Avenue in June of that year.
  • The Internet wave began in 1995 for DWC.  Through a joint marketing agreement, DWC helped launch Atlantic Internet Technologies, a local ISP.
  • DWC achieved Microsoft Certified Partner status through extensive training and passing the required certification tests in 1995.
  • In 2001, DWC launched its new software development group to design software running on Microsoft platforms.  The software development group is now the fastest growing segment of DWC’s business—Back to the Future!
